Springing into Success: Think Academy's Year-Round Course For Grade 2 Unveiled

Grade 2 is the year after first grade, so students are typically around 7-8 years old. It’s a time to build on what they learned in first grade and explore new concepts! Here’s a glimpse into what a second grader might experience:

Reading and Writing:

Reading gets more complex! Second graders tackle longer books and more challenging vocabulary. They also focus on understanding what they read by answering questions about the story.
Their writing skills flourish too. They learn to write paragraphs, use punctuation correctly, and even write short stories or poems.

Math:

Numbers become more exciting! Second graders become pros at adding and subtracting with multiple digits. They might even be introduced to multiplication and division towards the end of the year.
They also delve into concepts like telling time (including AM/PM), measuring things in different units, and understanding the value of each place in a number (like tens and ones).

Science and Social Studies:

Science gets even more fascinating! They might study animals and their habitats, plants and their life cycles, or even the weather and how it changes.
Social studies broaden their horizons. They might learn about different cultures around the world, historical figures, or how communities function.

Other Skills:

Second grade is a time to develop important life skills too. They focus on things like following directions, working well with others, and expressing themselves clearly.

By the cease of our Think Academy Grade 2 Year-Round Spring Course, students will learn:

Multiplication and division, spotting fractions, decimals, averages, and addition and subtraction of decimals issues.
Word troubles related to cycles, profits and losses, and age. Say good-bye to the worry of tough word issues!
The location and perimeter of various figures and recognize symmetrical figures, during algorithms. Develop concrete abstract questioning.
